Tes Freight & Storage Company tank farm manages independently owned tank farms in Jurong Port, Rotterdam Port, Houston Port, Qingdao and Zhoushan, which are operated by our management and not owned by oil companies in those locations, and our management charges all oil companies the necessary bills for storage and handling their products. Our tank farms are situated above the ground and while some are beneath the ground with support for successful discharges of products into heavy duty oil tankers and pipelines. We have large industrial amenities for the storage of oil and petroleum products before these products are formally transported to the end users or further to storage facilities. Our farm’s tanks are positioned in various locations where ocean liners carrying products can discharge their cargo while some are technically attached to pipelines in other to draw our supplies through rails or barges and by heavy duty oil tankers. Most of our tank farms have heavy duty oil tankers operating from their grounds and these vehicles transport products to petrol stations or other users. The products which reach our tank farms are from the refineries and suitable for delivery to customers because our tank farms are modern and comprise various types of tankage, pipelines, and gantries with a greater degree of automation as significant changes in depot operations.
Tes Freight & Storage Company tank farm utilizes Tank Storage Facilities in the Port of Rotterdam and in the Asian regions of Jurong, Qingdao, and Zhoushan, allowing simultaneous loading of multiple vessel tankers with deadweight of 50–150 thousand tons and a capacity of 6,500 tons per hour in Zhoushan, Jurong, and Qingdao Ports, and tankers with deadweight up to 75 to 150 thousand tons with a capacity of up to 4,500 and 6,500 tons per hour in the Port of Rotterdam. As global population and GDP rise, so does the world’s need for energy and chemicals. We see a widening gap between the areas where energy and petrochemicals are produced and where they are consumed. This has increased the movement of oil, gas, and chemicals over longer distances worldwide. Simultaneously, markets and product flows evolve due to stronger climate policies, geopolitical and economic shifts, and innovation in energy and fuels. All this drives the growing need for liquid and gas storage and handling at critical points along global marine routes. Identifying optimal terminal locations requires long-term geopolitical foresight, while changing flows require agility in terminal operations. In this dynamic industry, our leadership rests on three pillars—three strategic areas of excellence.
Following this, pile foundations were completed, and construction of the oil terminal began during the summer season. “Work is limited to summer navigation, which lasts from August to early October,” said Vladimir Krupenikov. “In winter, temperatures can drop to -50°C, and ice covers the Ob Bay and Kara Sea around 270 days each year.”
The terminal will be transported to Cape Stone aboard the heavy-lift cargo vessel Korex-2 from the GPC shipyard in Abu Dhabi.
The selection of a UAE shipyard was influenced by both cost efficiency and considerations around possible sanctions.
